Plot:

New York, 1950s. Marty Mauser is a fast-talking, egocentric shoe salesman with a single, obsessive goal: to become the world table tennis champion. Along the way, he embarks on an affair with a bored socialite and gets entangled in dangerous schemes, turning his life into one continuous, chaotic rally where the stakes rise with every second.
